How many months have you got?

  • Paris
  • Belgium (Brugge, Gent, Antwerp)
  • Netherlands (Amsterdam etc.)
  • Rhine Gorge (Koblenz to Bingen)
  • Southern route: Reims and Champagne
  • Strasbourg, Colmar and the rest of Alsace.
  • Stuttgart comes here, before Garmisch.
  • Rothenburg ob der Tauber and lots more small towns, Würzburg, Nurembourg.
  • Munich

And lots more. How are you travelling (car or train)? the details need to be optimised for whichever you choose.

Probably 3 weeks.......assuming flying into Paris and departing Munich. Have been to Belgium and Netherlands, Colmar too. Thinking of Oktoberfest activities, not too crazy. Could we include Eagles Nest? We are open to car or train travel.

RE car travel. As this is a one way trip, be aware that renting a car in one country and returning it in a different one usually has a high charge. Someone (paid employee) has to drive it back to its home country.

Cities can be done by train, and you do not want a car in big cities (Munich, Stuttgart). Small rural areas a car is better. What are your preferences?

Also the time of year could affect the best option (You said "Oktoberfest" , which implies September).
Yes you can include Eagles nest.
Salzburg is a good day trip from Munich.

With 3 weeks you can include a lot of options. I suggest reading some guide books to get an idea of what you like.
