This is very misleading. This person apparently had his CDC card, just not the official pass sanitaire. There are many stores of people getting by with just the CDC card.
I disagree. Nothing was misleading. The author did not have a Pass. All he had was his CDC card. And in his case it was sufficient for his needs. Somehow I don't think this will be the case in every instance for every tourist going to Europe. Especially if they come from countries other than the US.
My wife and I just finished staying in Nice and going to Eze le Village, Monaco, and other side trips. I had no pass!! At NO time was the USA CDC vaccination card not accepted at restaurants, museums, and any place we wanted to go. Most of the restaurants did not even ask for any ID regarding Covid. The French are quite happy in general to take your money!!
Same experience as the last poster. Our vaccine cards from Canada were absolutely sufficient. About 60% of the time restaurants asked to see them, and then barely glanced at them. Only 1 hotel so far out of 5 has even asked, and they had no problem with the certificate either.
OTOH it sounds like Los Angeles is going to start checking passes almost everywhere, sometime soon. Swell.
TravellingGirl, as a fellow Canadian leaving for France in 10 days this is very good news.
We are double vacced and have our provincial proof but have not yet received PassSanitaire
and I'm getting so worried about Covid roadblocks and paperwork that I almost considering
cancelling.
We are also supposed to be in Amsterdam for 7 days and their rules have become more stringent.
It's our 8th trip to Europe so fairly experienced travelers but the constant changes are hard to keep up with.
Run and travel—- Enjoy your trip!
I can understand your worry about constantly changing rules etc. We have been in France for 2 weeks now and it has been a breeze.
Are you flying out of Pearson? And are you checking a bag or flying carryon only ?
My next minor worry if making sure I can find a pcr test so that we can re-enter Canada. I’m sure it will be fine as I am told they are easy to obtain. But it is still a little worrying leading up to that day. Sure wish Canada allowed antigen tests for entry.
Travel girl, we are east coast and have a connection through Montreal. Carrier options and international flights are still hard to find from here. We usually drive to Halifax but getting into Nova Scotia isn't east these days so decided to do a connection.
We always travel light, one backpack each, no personal bag. So much easier.
Definitely would be easier if Canad accepted the antigen!
Thanks for your input, I feel less stressed at least for now. 😁
we do the same. Carryon bag only. Our 1 minor annoyance at Pearson with Air Canada. We had checked in online so we went straight to security . We were stopped by a AC staff member telling us everyone had to go to the check in lines. I explained I was carry on only but it was due to them needing to see your vaccination certificate and the signed French declaration form. So we were sent to the big long line with all the people waiting to check bags. Thankfully after asking several staff members they told us no, we didn’t need to stand in that line. They checked our papers and let us out of the line. So have your vaccination paper and signed declaration ready before you go through customs, Incase you encounter the same inconvenience as we did.
Arrive 12/25/21 - Applied for Passé Sanitaire 09/12/21 - Still Waiting.
I am aware of of others re-submitting and having luck in an almost instantaneous approval - but - since our arrival date is far out I am hesitant to resubmit and have yet another application in queue so I will wait until December to resubmit.
I am trying to find an email address for the Louvre to ask if our CDC cards will be accepted…I have emailed another museum and they were fine with our CDC card.
Has anyone here recently used their CDC card to enter?
a lot can change between now and Christmas Day.
Have you seen their official covid page? https://www.louvre.fr/en/visit/covid-19-advice-for-visitors
Officially the CDC card is not sufficient. You need a test or a Health Pass.
