Tonight is our last night in Paris and we'd like to see the Eiffel tower with lights. We are staying near the Carnavalet museum and could use help figuring out a night bus option or are open to suggestions.
Have you already been to the tower during the day? Use the same transportation. You don't need a night bus as the same buses and Metros run until after midnight.
The tower is lit at around sunset. It sparkles for several minutes at the top of the hour, every hour. Please note that the sparkles are better from the ground than from up in the tower. Then it's strobe lights in your face.
The sparkling Eiffel Tower is equally as beautiful from the Trocadero or the Champ de Mars. There is a Trocadero stop on the Metro. We liked the Ecole Militaire stop best for access to the Champ de Mars. This is a link to a zoomable map with tourist attractions and Metro stops.
Watch the lights from Trocadeo! The metro stop is right there, and it is SOOOO romantic with the fountain tinkling underneath... just lovely!
Trocadero! Did it every night when I took my sweet Granddaughter for a Paris trip last summer. We sat on a bench and watched for an hour and the pre-teen never ever got bored. If possible take one of the night time boat rides on the Seine as well.
