I am trying to decide between these two hotels:
— Hôtel Le Grimaldi by HappyCulture
— Best Western Plus Massena
Both get good reviews or better and meet my criteria (e.g. location, relatively spacious rooms, etc.). I'd appreciate input from anyone who has stayed at these hotels recently and/or is otherwise quite familiar with them.

I have stayed at both - and they're great - but my favorite is the Best Western Roosevelt.
No experience with that Best Western, but stayed 3 nights at Hotel Le Grimaldi February 2023 to attend the Nice Carnival. It's an easy walk from the Jean Medecin tram stop. Location was good for selection of restaurants, easy walk to the promenade. Front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast buffet was small but acceptable.
We were back in Nice at the end of the trip a few weeks later to fly home and stayed at Hotel la Malmaison for one night another fine choice.
