Nice, France airport hotel suggestion

Hello travelers!
My small family and I are headed to northwest Italy and our last day of travel is in Nice. We we were thinking, because we have such an early flight the next morning we would stay near the airport. I'm not loving many of the hotels I see. Has anyone stayed at one near the airport and liked it? Clean and safe are our priorities.

Thank you!
Niki

If you're staying in Nice already, I'd say to stay another night at your hotel and then just take a taxi or the tram to the airport.

The airport is so close to the city that it isn't necessary to stay right next to the airport.

Also, don't get to the airport too early. You'll want to double check what time the ticket counter opens. In my fit of American ready-ness, I've arrived way too early at the Nice airport too many times.

Nice airport is only about 25 minutes outside of the center of town by the tram. A taxi would be about 10 minutes. Any reason you feel you must stay near the airport?

Unfortunately we only have one day and night in Nice. Our flight leaves at 6 am. We were thinking we needed to be at the airport by 4:30 am. Just wanted to make sure we got there that early with no issues.

Just stay in Nice
Have your hotel call for taxi (or they may have a driver they use)
Airport is so close it will only take 10-15 min at that time
It’s also a very small airport

Also, be sure to know which terminal at NCE you go from. Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.

At that hour (say 4 am) the tram would not be running yet, so you may be left with a taxi, Uber or Bolt if you have a lot of luggage. Thus it may not save you much in time to stay next to the airport.

If you still want to stay by the airport, the Sheraton is the closest and is walkable to Terminal 1 but Terminal 2 is a bit further. The Radisson Airport is probably next, followed by the Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express. These are newish, modern and clean as they were all built within the last decade for the expansion of the Grand Arenas multimodal hub. Some of the ones a bit further are less expensive but are mostly older. I think the reviews get impacted because while these properties are new, there is very little in the immediate area for more than a one night stay, the rooms can be smaller (for quick stays/turnover) and you'll want to take the tram or bus into the city rather than go to the mostly empty surrounding area (particularly at night).
