Nice, FR, airport to train station

Need help in getting from the Nice airport to the train station.
Which bus do we catch and where is it located at the airport (which terminal)? The color of the bus and bus signs we should look for would be helpful.
Do we load our own luggage?
What is the fare and do we have to have the exact amount?
Which train station does it go to?
Our ultimate stop on the train is La Spezia, Italy.
Where do we put our luggage once we get on the train?

Thanks

The bus from Nice airport to the station will be a city bus with no separate luggage compartment. You'll need to keep your cases with you.

On the train, luggage can go on racks either by the entrance to the carriage or above your seats, depending on the design of the carriage, how heavy it is, and how worried you are about theft.

On George's link, bus #99 is the one to Nice Ville (main) train station.

Yes it is the 99 bus...don't remember the bus color. The fare is 6 euros each It is a city bus but designated as an express from the airport to the Nice Ville Train Station.....quite central and about a 10 min walk from the Promenade des Anglais....the road and boardwalk along the coast. It is the biggest station in Nice...the central one...there are 2 others (east and west of the gare (station). The bus has lots of room for storage of luggage but you must load it yourself. The ticket place to acquire tickets for this bus is at the arrivals area of the airport out side the arrivals doorway that leads to all the transportation.....you really can't miss it . The airport isn't humongous. You do not need the exact change and if you arrive late and the ticket place is closed you can buy tickets from the driver...as with all buses in Nice.
You could take other city buses to the station and they cost less but take much longer to arrive at the station. We us e the 99 all the time and prefer it over the others because there is more room for luggage and it is direct. While on the train there are places to store your luggage on each car....you will see them. Bon voyage! Are you not spending any time in Nice?

Thanks Cindy - this is exactly the info i was looking for. No, we will not be staying in Nice, but do you have a reasonable hotel to recommend if our plans fall thru? Also, is there a place to buy a SIM card in the Nice airport or train station? Do you know how far the Monte Carlo cruise terminal is from the Monte Carlo train station?
