Hello, We wonder if it would be crazy to travel to Nice at this time. We not looking for crowds. Any suggestions would be great. Also does anyone know what Cassis is like, for a possible alternative. Thanks, Cindy

Be aware that the last days of the film festival coincide with the lead-up to the Monaco Grand Prix. The Riviera is jammed then.

Cassis is a lovely town, much calmer than Cannes at that time of year. However, beware the weekends in May when it really fills up. Traffic is bumper to bumper out to the calanques. No matter what, I love that place, even on the weekends.
