Nice

We are thinking of going to Nice, France in Oct or Nov. Any suggestions on where to stay? Also any insight in to the weather in October and November.
Thank you.

Well, I was there for 4 nights in mid-January this year and the weather was quite pleasant. Not quite shorts and T-shirt weather, but nice (in Nice).

We have been to Nice four times, the longest for two weeks. We love the city plus there are so many wonderful day trips to take: Monaco, Eze, Antibes and more! Nice has it’s own special cuisine too.

You might try the Hotel Cronstadt in Nice. We stayed there a few years ago and it was reasonably priced and a good location.

The weather can be more variable in November and October is a bit of a transition month. In the May to September range, if there is rain, it is generally a few minutes to a few hours. In the fall, and into November, you can get strong storms and rainy days. You can also hit perfectly nice weather, I've had lunch on the beach in late November.

I would generally stay in the center, in the Carre d'Or or the few blocks around Jean Medecin. A good proximity to the tram stop for line Line 2 (Jean Medecin, Alsace Lorraine, and maybe Durandy) will keep the port in easy access but will also have the main train station easily accessible, and keep rainy day activities within easy reach. You can also choose the old town as it will quiet down as you head into November, but the walking distance to transport connections will increase.

We, just returned from 7 days in Nice. Not sure what your budget is. We stayed at the Hotel West End. Great location. So much was within walking distance of this Hotel. They have a free breakfast each morning & an excellent restaurant of their own. We loved it.
So many great memories from our stay in Nice.
Good luck!
