Nice, Chamonix, Geneva, Loire Valley, Normandy, & Paris in 14 days?

Hello,
I’m hoping to get some tips for those who have followed close to the same itinerary in 2 weeks for our trip September 9-22nd this year. We are flying into Nice, then traveling by car in the order listed in this post’s title.
How many days do you recommend to stay in each, and what are your favorite things to see, places to stay (hoping for VRBO/AirBNB), and tips for the long travel distance between Geneva and the area near Amboise.
We covered most of Paris last year so don’t need more than 3 days there before flying out.
We went on a fabulous trip to Italy last year with the help of RS travel consultants so without that option this year I need help!
Thank you!

Your schedule is a bit tight for what you want to do but I think it can work. I would not drive all the way! You do not need a car in Nice and you could do without driving from Geneva to the Loire valley.

Here is the itinerary I came up with (first take):

  • 9/9: Arrive in Nice
  • 10: Visit Nice
  • 11: Day trip of your choice (e.g. Eze, Cap Ferrat...), stay in Nice
  • 12: Fly from Nice to Geneva, rent car and drive to Chamonix
  • 13: Chamonix: Aiguille du Midi
  • 14: Chamonix: Montenvers
  • 15: Drive back to Geneva, return car, fly to Paris Orly, rent second car, drive to the Loire valley (e.g. Amboise). It is a bit cumbersome perhaps, but the 7.5-hour drive from Chamonix to the Loire isn't great either... If you do decide to drive instead, rent a car from the French side of Geneva airport.
  • 16: Loire Valley
  • 17: Loire Valley
  • 18: drive to Bayeux
  • 19: Bayeux
  • 20: return car in Caen, take train to Paris. Or just drive to Paris.
  • 21: Paris
  • 22: fly out of Paris

It is a bit short for Nice, so if you have an extra day you could add it there.
Also, I said "rent a car" for Geneva/Chamonix, but there are plenty of transfer services from Geneva airport to Chamonix, and it could be easier / smoother for you since you do not really need a car for two days in Chamonix.
