We traveled to the Old Town in Nice for dinner twice at Chat Noir Chat Blanc on a side street there. We had read about it in the New York Times Travel section and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It is small so make a reservation.

We ate at Geppetto on our last night in France. Not in old town area but only a 10-15 min walk, or you could cab. Well worth it. Read the reviews on TripAdvisor. #6 in Nice. Not at all fancy or pretentious. Delicious.

Attimi - Italian resto on Place Massena
Le Safari and Vogilia - on Cours Saleya
Finnochio's - for gelato
a little further out (near the Monoprix) l'Ovale
