Nice 1-month transport pass

We’re in Nice for a month and would like information on the options for a one-month pass for transportation in the city and region.

There is (used to be) a “carte azur” @ 45€ but I find only very old pages for it so I suspect it no longer is offered (??)

Lignes Azur seems to sell a 31-day pass for 40€ but with less area coverage.

What has been your recent experience with a city/regional transport pass in Nice? (We’re only looking for a transport pass and not the kind of pass for ‘activities ‘.)

We do understand that there is also a packet of 10 tickets for 10€ which we’re considering but are leaning towards the one-month pass for simplicity.

There did use to be a monthly transport pass across the region. I do not know if it is still available -- these offers sometimes change annually. I normally use the carnet or buy a monthly pass; there is also a monthly Carte Zou 50 75% that gives a train discount that might e worthwhile.

Thanks. We went to the train station and couldn't find any obvious information on a monthly pass so we ended up with the carnet (10-trip multi-pass) -- probably best in the end since we'll walk more. (walk more = eat/drink more !!)

We are confused about using the multi-pass when transferring from (say) the tram to a bus. It's not exactly a 'carnet' (like we're used to from Paris, which gives 10 physical tickets) - it is a single card that can be stamped up to 10 times.

According to the instructions, the multi-pass can be shared between 2 people - just validate it twice at the start. But if we then transfer to a bus (within the 74 minute period) and validate it on boarding the bus, won't that add another tick, i.e., counting against the 10 ride stamps on the pass? I can see how validating at each entry works on the SOLO ticket but not how it works on the multi-pass (without counting each boarding).

Each stamp counts as one validation and is good for 74 minutes. You can do transfers in your direction of travel (no returns). You can read the conditions here for more info (in French). Note you can also buy an Ticket Azur for 1.50E to travel on the departmental lines as a transfer.

I now have the answer (from our experience and from information on a current Lignes d'Azure brochure).

(1) Transferring from the tram to the bus, using the multi-pass: Validate upon entering the tram and it gets one stamp. Then, transfer to the bus (within the time limit) and validate the multi pass on boarding; it checks validity and does NOT stamp a second time.

(2) If two people are sharing a multi pass: Validate it two times when first boarding the tram; it gets 2 stamps. Then, both transfer onto the bus; validate it ONE time (for ALL who are traveling on the shared multi pass). Again, it gets NO stamp on the bus (assuming it's still within the validity period).
