We are planning to travel to Paris from December 27-January 2nd. Two moms and their 18 year old daughters. The girls are interested in doing a cooking class and curious if anyone had suggestions for where to do this? Also, we are looking for New Year's Eve plans. Would prefer not to be out on the streets in huge crowds but looking for something to appeal to the girls as a "Paris New Years." I would even consider booking a nicer hotel for one night if there was a hotel that had an event and we could stay over and not worry about getting home after. Kind of open to ideas. We have considered the river cruise but looking for other ideas.
You'll want to book dinner as soon as reservations open up. Plan for it to be expensive, as usually on that evening many restaurants have a prix fixe menu.
I have not done it myself, but my brother did a cooking class here and thought it was great:

Where are you planning to stay, hotel or neighborhood? Not sure I understand the thought of one night at a "nicer hotel" for an event...please elaborate.
One of my favorite NYE in Paris was one with no plans - just popped into Café de Flore for an elegantly casual dinner of champagne and a club sandwich and then watched the Eiffel Tower light up at midnight from one of the bridges. Very Parisian. I've listened to several podacasts with the author Jane Bertch who has an English speaking cooking school in Paris and she recently came out with a memoir. Here's a link to her school: https://lacuisineparis.com. Consider that many things will be closed/limited hours on NYE and New Year's Day so plan accordingly if there is something you want to do.

For cooking classes, I suggest https://cooknwithclass.com/paris-cooking-classes/ or https://lacuisineparis.com/. If Catherine Reed is still offering classes in the 7th arrondissement, that would be another great option.
For cooking classes, I recommend Cozymeal. They have many good options and offer small group classes that could be ideal for your group. You should be also able to customize the menu if you like: https://www.cozymeal.com/fr/paris/cooking-classes.
We booked them in several cities in Italy and Spain and my understanding is that they are quite similar in France.
For NYE activities, I recommend that you finalize everything ASAP since everything gets booked quite fast in Paris for NYE.
We were in Paris in September and I really enjoyed the cooking class at La Cuisine Paris https://lacuisineparis.com. A small group, charming chef, visit to the market and wonderful lunch. The owner is an America, Jane Berth, who wrote a charming memoir, The French Ingredient, about her experience in moving to France and establishing the cooking school - both highly recommended.
Whoops! Jane Bertch
