I just saw this article wondering if others are aware?
I haven't seen anything recently. However, my husband just received his passport renewal which was a tremendous relief because we are scheduled to leave for UK and France Monday. I had applied for a QR code almost 2 weeks ago and haven't received any information except an automatic reply. Today we sent the paperwork required to the same address and this time the automatic reply said that as of today, August 27, the application needs to be sent to an online account called FrenchConnect. This is the country's way of linking all of your information, including bank accounts, medical accounts, etc. which have no relationship to a non-European person. I'm extremely confused and unsure whether my husband's application through the initial system will be reviewed. I cannot find any other announcement of this new process.
The article states that if there are no objections from EU member countries. Non vaccinated Americans and others will need to follow new guidelines. I’ll copy the article into the thread once I get to a pc.
I applied for the passé sanitaire August 11 received an acknowledgment and nothing since. I leave Sunday arrive Monday. I think I’ll need to reapply. Yikes this is stressful, all for the love of Paris. ❤️
I've seen a reference to this on the TA boards as well, but I'll wait until the French embassy website actually has information regarding this. As it stands, I'm due to arrive in Paris on Sept. 10 and will be submitting my docs early Monday under the present system. As their current guidance is in place until Aug 31, I expect we might have more info on this new system by then.
Here's an article from Reuters, which confirms that the restrictions will apply to unvaccinated travelers from the US, not all travelers.

I applied for the passé sanitaire August 11
debbie - Hopefully you will not mind my pointing out that there is no é in pass sanitaire. However, some newspapers, such as le Figaro, do use passe sanitaire, without accent aigu which would change both the meaning and pronunciation.
An article in Bloomberg doesn't mention unvaccinated Americans, just Americans.
Take note of the date of whatever article you're reading. Articles written before today (8/27) tended to talk about all Americans. Articles written today (like the one in Reuters) seem to indicate any restrictions would be on the unvaccinated.
Here is a new link to the article.

Tocard, thanks for the correction. I’m not the least bit offended.
Debbie…that article you shared makes me a little nervous. It did not differentiate between vaccinated and unvaccinated US visitors. I wonder if they are considering having vaccinated US people quarantine? That will stink.

Sounds the like restrictions are gonna be geared towards people who are not vaccinated. Hopefully that’s the case and no testing or quarantine are required for people who are vaccinated.
100% agree Aimee. Air Travel should have only been for the vaccinated and the people who were not vaccinated would be SOL!
I think it is important to put this into perspective.
The article is describing a general agreement coming out of a meeting that the EU countries had today (Friday).
The procedure is that any agreement does not take effect until a waiting period is complete, which is Monday.
All of this is fine, but we are talking about the EU, they talk, they make decisions, then pass down that decision as a recommendation to the member states, and then each member state makes their own rules and details how they will implement their own requirements.
Member states do not stray too far from guidance, but as we have seen, Greece, Italy, and others have all gone their own way, or at least been somewhat liberal in interpretation.
In the next few days, look to official sites for each country to get any changes.
"...no business traveling right now." Quite right. Simple solution ...take the shots.
If CNN is correct and if I heard correctly, France has 80% vacced, which is the same for Marin County here, the highest percentage in CA SF County is almost the same If the French can do that, why can't those unvacced here do likewise barring any medical issues.
Anyone have any insider news? Looks like restrictions will be for all Americans. The most recent articles do not mention unvaccinated. Let's keep each other informed.
Schengen visa. I googled it under eu travel restrictions. Sherpa also has an article. Of course individual countries could dissent.
