Any recent experiences at the airport (CDG) with regard to providing actual documentation of negative Covid test when flying with Delta to US?
I’ve had two friends return recently on two different airlines (from Barcelona and Brussels), and they only had to provide the self completed negative attestation form provided by the airlines (American and United). No actual negative test result documentation was asked for.
Did your friends take a Covid test the day before the flight?
Flew home from CDG yesterday. We uploaded an image of the negative Covid test to the Delta Flyready app and kept a copy with us. At the airport we completed the attestation form. We were asked to show both forms twice before boarding. They collected the attestation form at the second check point.
Donna, was the negative test result you uploaded a photo of an official one from a pharmacy or just a self-bought rapid test you did with no one watching? I have heard that only official negative test results such as from a pharmacy or an eMed Binax proctored result can be used. We are flying to Paris next week via United and it would be good to know your answer, thank you.
WE have flown twice to the US from France in the last 7 most and sent a child on a separate flight -- in each case we had to upload an official COVID test to the airline site -- or else show the official paperwork at the airport. Home test results are of no interest -- they don't count unless they are proctored and those tests that are proctored provide an email official record that you use.
Our flights were all on United but Delta does not manage this differently -- you either show official test paperwork or else upload that paperwork ahead of the flight.
Gabriel, we uploaded the official test results performed the day before departure at a pharmacy ($20 for the test, took 20 minutes).
I left from CDG 11 days ago on Delta and indeed had to upload my negative test in FlyReady, and then the agent at check-in checked it.
Thank you Janettravels44 and Donna. It's good to hear from someone else who is using United to confirm. Much appreciated.
Thank you all for the helpful replies!
And when "fly ready" doesn't work... don't panic. It's an incredibly faulty app.
Just take your documentation to the airport. It will be fine
As for the friends of the OP I guess AA and United want fines and Delta doesn't because Delta did check mine (I don't even bother with "fly ready" I have better things to do that beta test Delta's IT failure :))
When we left Paris 3 weeks ago we got our 2 negative tests at the corner pharmacy…..we got paper copies of our negative results in 30 minutes, I took pics of both, downloaded them to the Delta FlyReady app and then my Iphone asked me if I wanted to load copies of them in my Health app on my Iphone…..have never used it but I said yes……then when we checked in at the Delta desk at CDG to come home the Delta agent asked to see my negative tests and I showed her the copies on my Health app….she nodded and said all was fine……………..
We took a picture of our results from a pharmacy and uploaded them to Delta FlyReady. We got a notification back that they were verified, and we never showed the paper copy to anyone at MRS or CDG. I got the attestation forms at CDG and quickly filled them out and handed them back to the man who was checking our documentation before we got to the gate. This was on May 21st.
