I cannot believe the video on Paris completely omits the fact that Notre Dame has burned! This gives a very misguided version of Paris.
bismalw2016, did you note the year that the video was released? Not much opportunity to re-film every video since Nov 2019. All of the videos and clips available were filmed pre-COVID.
I'm sorry but it does not give a misguided vision of Paris. It presents Paris as of the date of filming and no more. NO video does more than that, freezing a moment in time. And let's be thankful for those videos as it will be many years before we can walk through that interior again.
Rick is very good about putting the actual date of filming on the final frame of every episode, and in the episode descriptions they often put the broadcast date in parens. Some episodes are "classics" and some are fresher, it's up to the viewer to sort them.
I just pulled this list from this website:
Burgundy: Profoundly French (2008)
France's Alsace (re-released in 2005)
France's Dordogne (2008)
France's Loire: Château Country (2014)
French Alps and Lyon (2020)
French Riviera: Uniquely Chic (2004)
Highlights of Paris: Eiffel and Monet to Crème Brûlée (2004)
Little Europe: Five Micro-Countries (2008)
Normandy: War-Torn Yet Full of Life (2004)
Paris: Embracing Life and Art (2012)
Paris: Regal and Intimate (2012)
Paris Side-Trips (2014)
Provence: Legendary Light, Wind, and Wine (2004)
Does anyone really not know about ND? Does it require an edit? What do you want him to say?
