Need suggestions on transportation in Paris for handicap

My wife is not able to use public transportation. We will need to use, taxi, uber or something similar.
Is uber or Lyft good in Paris? Any suggestions?

Uber works as it does in the US in Paris. I use Chaffeur Prive as well as Uber while in Paris. I prefer Uber when i am traveling with more than 3 people because in my experience they have more vans available. Either should be fine for a party of two though if your wife uses a wheelchair, you might want to use an Uber Van. When you say public transit, are you thinking only of the metro or do you mean to include busses? Paris has an excellent bus system and depending on the handicap in question, busses can be an excellent alternative to the metro.

I agree with JHK's suggestion about using buses for handicapped travel in Paris. Almost all of the buses "kneel" so that one can roll right on from the back or middle doors. There is space there for the chair, as well as fold down seats especially for older and/or disabled folks. In addition, the French are very good at making accomodation for people who might look to be having difficulty.

I must travel with a portable oxygen generator, now, and it is almost embarrassing to have Parisians leap to their feet to offer me a seat. Sometimes I am only going a few stops, and would prefer to merely stand, holding on to the central pole. After a few times politely declining the offered seat, I could tell I was making a wrong move as I saw the disappointed expression on their faces. This was there one opportunity of the day to do a good deed, and I was cheating them out of the chance. Now I always graciously accept with one of my few French phrases, thanking them and saying how extraordinarily kind they are. Everyone gets to feel good for a few moments.
