Need recommendations for birthday dinner in Paris in March

Hi all,
I will be having a birthday in Paris in early March. We prefer smaller not too fancy places (I am not taking fancy clothes). Hoping for a delicious memorable spot. Thank you for your recommendations.

What kind of food? Budget? Just you or a group? Any preferred location?

Well, that narrows it down to several thousand restaurants.

What is the budget, in euros, per person excluding drinks? Where are you staying? What type of food you like/dislike? What makes a spot memorable for you? Are there any foods you want to avoid?

There will be two diners. I’m thinking French cuisine, but Georgian and Israeli foods are some of my favorites. The budget is about €150 or less, not including wine or cocktails. We mainly want a place tgat is not too stuffy or fancy.

Our favorite celebration restaurant is L'Initial in the 5th. They have a multi course tasting menu for about 60 Euro. Reserve well in advance. Never had a disappointing meal there. You would want to dress up as best you can but formal or suit and tie not needed.

Book as soon as you know your dates; if it is too early they will let you know.

I think I booked about 3 mos out; a friend was not able to get a reservation for the entire month of October trying a couple of weeks out. We also booked Eclipses, a new and quite excellent restaurant by a chef we had enjoyed when he had another place. I think it was about 80 Euro for the 5 course meal which was excellent. I booked it several months out.

Some other places we enjoyed recently: Coretta on the edge of MLK park in Batignolles -- it is a bit like dining in a tree house and we have had several very good meals there. Bofinger -- fabulous ornate room and huge servings of alsatian food which we like. If you reserve there make sure you request the main room when you reserve. There see if you can split a meal and order oysters and crepes suzette or whatever to mitigate that. The portions are huge. We took one of our meals home and ate for two days from it. (take out is not a legal right and restaurants are prepared for it -- rarely needed in most places -- but in places with enormous servings like this one, it is nice if you are in an apartment to be able to not waste food)
