I will be landing at Terminal 2E on a Delta morning flight at 7:55am, I have a British Airways flight at 12:10 pm at Terminal 2A, the map shows it is a 15 min walk from 2E to 2A. The question is do I just walk from the arriving gate to the departure gate or do I have to go through immigration/customs and then go to the British Airways Desk and check in and go through security to get to the gate? We will only be using one carry on each.
Donald - You'll have to go through immigration and customs upon arrival on the British Airways flight, and go back out into the non-secure portion of the airport. Then you'll follow the instructions for how to get to 2A, and go check in for your next flight over there and go back through security etc to gain access to your new terminal/gate.
Is this one through booking or two separate tickets?
Where is your final destination? Is it in the Schengen Area?
- If one through booking, and your final destination is in the Schengen Area, then immigration in Paris, none at final destination.
- If one through booking, and your final destination is OUTSIDE the Schengen Area. you will stay "airside" and not go through immigration Paris, only at your final destination.
- If two bookings, then immigration in Paris, exit through arrivals and you then need to check in again for your next flight. Which may or will also involve immigration if final destination is NOT in the Schengen Area.
Customs is a non-issue, just walk through the "nothing to declare door".
Paul's or The Sheraton are your best choices for food. Or you may want to take the shuttle to Terminal 3, walk 5 minutes to the Hilton and take in their breakfast. It's pretty good. Last week at Terminal 3, they were conducting baggage searches at 10 am and weren't set up yet - so everyone had to stay outside. Luckily we walked back to the Hilton and convinced the driver to take us to Terminal 1.
