Need advice for which Paris train stop location to stay near :)

Hello everyone,
My husband and I have 24hrs in Paris although we have been several times before so we are not concerned about seeing all the sights.

We'd like to find a Paris metro stop location that is on the direct TGV line from CDG. I see TGV trains that take about 30 mins to get into Paris. Does anyone have a suggestion as to a good location to choose?

We'd get a hotel near the metro stop so we can just drop our luggage and start exploring. We would not be visiting museums but just want to walk around quaint neighborhoods with cafes and shops while getting over jet lag. Any thoughts? I hope this isn't too vague of a question. Thanks! :)

We like to stay on hotels in the Latin Quarter. The RER B stops closest would be St Michel/Notre Dame or Jardin du Luxembourg.

For clarity's sake, you mean the RER. TGV does not go from CDG into Paris, but toward Brussels or Strasbourg.

Yes, I should have said RER. I thought I saw somewhere a 30 minute train ride into Paris and confused it with a TGV train.

The RER B, which is the train that goes directly to and from CDG, stops near Luxembourg Gardens which is why I often stay in that area my first couple of nights and last couple of nights when I'm flying in or out of CDG. There a small hotel called the Hotel Jardin du Luxembourg that I use. It's a 3-4 minute walk from the RER station. It's nothing super luxurious but it's clean, the staff is very nice, and it's on a small, dead-end street so it's relatively quiet for central Paris. Many of the rooms have nice little balconies you can sit on and enjoy the old houses across the street. Walk to the gardens just across the street. It's a pretty area to walk around in...the Pantheon is just around the corner and the neighborhood is lovely. It takes about 45-50 minutes to get from CDG to central Paris on the RER.

I'd look for a hotel near St. Michel/NOtre Dame (we like the Henri IV Rive Gauche near here. or near the Luxembourg stop. This gives you an easy shot back to the airport on the RER. Remember that the RER B goes to more than one location -- be sure you get the one going to CDG -- it is easy to do, just pay attention to the stops on the electric board over the platform and get on a train that ends at CDG. Half of them are branched elsewhere.

Both right around corner from Luxembourg RER station . And of course Luxembourg gardens and right across street from Pantheon . Easy walk to river and bustling section of Latin quarter and st Germain.
