Can anyone point me to the nearest taxi stand to the Roissy Bus drop-off point on Rue Scribe? I did a bit of "virtual walking" around the area on Google Earth Street View but didn't see any obvious candidate. Do I need to walk up to Boulevard Haussmann or maybe go toward the main entrance of the Opera? Any pointers would be most helpful. In the past I have just taken the Metro to my hotel from here but don't relish the prospect of repeating that exercise on this trip.

Go toward the Opera. We waited in a line there one Saturday night at 2a.m. It was on Ave. de l'Opera, on the east side of the street almost at the Opera.

Merci bien! I never would have found that spot on Google Earth Street View without your pointers.
For others in the same predicament who don't want to futz with Google Earth, the taxi stop is in front of a jewelry store named Maty at 4 Place Opéra. Along the street there is a small blue taxi sign situated on a tall lamp post that also features a squarish clock just below the lamps.
