Hi Bostonfan, answers to your questions in your second message: —
- Are the Paris 2024 passes the only option during the Olympics and Paralympics? (which is what you seem to think, as well)
The monthly pass is still available, but that's not relevant to you.
The Navigo Jour and the Navigo Semaine are not available during your time frame.
You can also still buy individual t+ tickets, and individual point-to-point tickets.
-- Do they have passes that are only for Zone 1-2 or do I have to do the Zone 1-5 Paris 2024 pass, regardless of whether I need Zone 1-5?
No, they only have one pass, the one that is for all five zones.
-- Is the Ile de France Mobilites app the best place to buy the pass? I will prefer a phone app pass over a paper pass, so I am hoping the app will allow that?
Probably so. If you have an iPhone with the latest iOS system you can buy tickets / passes and store them on your iPhone .
-- I see some chatter online about how it works on Android but not on the iPhone? Anyone have experience with that?
That is no longer true. Finally in May, they came to agreement with Apple, and now you can buy tickets and passes on your iPhone.
-- Will the Paris 2024 Navigo pass also cover my ride from CDG to St Lazare station, which is near where my hotel is?
Yes. The Paris 2024 pass also includes transit to and from the airports.
Now, here's another thing you can think about :
You can buy individual tickets now for use when you are there. If you do this, you have to buy them before the prices go up on July 20.
— By going to the IDF Mobilites app, making an account.
— You can buy up to 30 individual t+ tickets.
— You can however *not * buy your origin-destination ticket for CDG to Gare St Lazare.
Then you can stock these tickets on your phone and use them when you are here.
****I have no idea if 30 tickets is enough for you, or whether this is a better deal financially. I am just telling you it is possible.
(I also don't know if you plan to go to venues outside of Paris which are included in the Paris 2024 passe, but might require an origin-destination ticket if you are just using regular tickets.)
The advantage of the Paris 2024 passe is that you pay (for you) the 70€ for the seven-day pass, and then you have dealt with it all.
