Navigo Jour day pass for Transilien-SCNF Line P train?

I understand that a single Paris Metro / Train / RER Ticket, or a Navigo Jour day pass, is now good for zones 1-5 in the Île-de-France region. I'm trying to find out if I can use my Paris Navigo Jour day pass for the Transilien-SCNF Line P train from Paris Gare de l'Est to Provins station (Gare de Provins), which is within zones 1-5.

I've read in most places that I can, but also found one spot that says NO, that I need to purchase a separate point-to-point ticket. A point-to-point ticket for this train is priced at € 2.55, same as a single Paris Metro / Train / RER Ticket, so I'm confused as to whether or not my Navigo Jour day pass is valid for this train ride or not.

You can do this. The main difference between Transilien and RER services is that the former end at terminal station, whereas the latter run through the city. But they are basically all now operated as one system, hence the use of letter to distinguish the lines.

The Navigo Day pass allows you to travel unlimited for one day in all
zones 1 to 5.

It is valid on all modes of transport:

Metro
Train
RER
Tram
bus (including Filéo)

Exceptions : the pass is not valid on certain routes:

airports (line 14 to Orly, RER B to CDG)
Orlyval
Bus Direct Paris-Aéroport (ex-Cars Air France)
Disney shuttles
tourist buses (OpenTour, Cars Rouges)
