We wish to visit villages in Bas Rhin that apparently do not have train stations -- Daubensand, Sundhouse and Baldenheim. We would prefer to not rent a car but appears we cannot avoid it. Would it be possible to rent a car in Colmar? Or better from Strasbourg? Or is there another way to get to these villages?

The only one I can see is an "on demand" bus service between Selestat station and Baldenheim. Operates 6 am to 7 pm. http://www.tis-selestat.com/k/fichiers/107.pdf
I think renting a car would be the best option. There is an Avis location at Colmar station.
