Anyone with recent experience using Nannybag for luggage storage? I'll be staying just off of Rue Montorgueil (Rue Marie Stuart) and need to store my luggage for a few hours before I can access my apartment. Thanks in advance for any help!
I have not, but the Europe-wide (or world-wide) luggage-storage providers that pop up on the internet are third parties that don't actually store your luggage. They take your money and make a reservation for you to drop your bags at one of the locations they've contracted with, which might be a hotel, a shop, etc. The way most of them work is that you don't know the precise storage location until you've paid; that's how they can be sure of making money. There is nothing wrong with this model; to me, it makes a great deal of sense. I used one of Nanny Bag's competitors in England last summer. It was fine.
I haven't gone looking for reviews, but I've seen a lot of comments about Nanny Bag, Radical Storage, etc. Only one was negative--the customer paid the third party, went to the specified location and found no storage spot there; don't know what was going on with that one.
I will say that when I leave my bag somewhere other than my hotel room, I transfer important items to a tote bag (or money belt) and keep it with me. Those items include phone, tablet, medications, extra cash and backup credit/debit cards. The third-party storage locations are probably more secure than a lot of the situations you run into at hotels that allow guests to store luggage before check-in or after check-out. I've seen bags piled up in open areas in hotels often enough.
If Nannybag turns out not to work for you, fyi, last October (2025) I used CityLocker near the Ile de la Cite (6, rue des Bernardins), 12 euros for the day, and it worked exactly as promised. I only stored my bag for a few hours, enough to go to nearby Notre Dame and walk around until could get into hotel.
I think the reservation and payment was directly managed on their site. You get a code to the outside door, and a code for the locker, via email. There was no one in attendance, but it seemed secure enough to me.
According to Google, they also have a place near Chatelet-les Halles (82 rue des Gravilliers), apparently a 7 minute walk to Rue Marie Stuart. And they have other locations, too.
