I will be in Paris the last week of March, 2024 and would like to attend evening musical performances, recommendations please. Merci and safe travels.
What kind of music? Jazz, rock, religious, classical, etc?
Open to all possibilities Thank you
Sainte-Chapelle Is a lovely, iconic church that occasionally holds evening classical concerts. We enjoyed our concert there a few years back. You need to pre book of course.
For musical events of all kinds, the best source of information on the internet in France is "Infoconcert".
Those in Paris:
https://www.infoconcert.com/concerts/concerts-par-departement.html?departement_id=75&genre_id=
It's in French, use a translator if necessary.
I created a link sorting all the events in Paris in the last week of March:
Sort the events if necessary with the drop-down menus "Genre", "Artist", etc.
The Philharmonie is a must -- a variety of musical events there mostly classical but varied. The building is amazing and is worth a visit even without a show. At Villette easiily reached on the metro.
Lots of classical stuff at the Theater Champs Elysees. the auditorium gets very hot so dress so you can remove layers.
The Paris Opera is expensive, very expensive, but also magnificent. If you want to do that you sign up on the site to enable ticket purchase. At this late date, the less expensive seats will probably be gone. I am looking for April and May and the shows i am looking at only have top tickets left.
Lots and lots of nice performance in churches around Paris. These have the advantage of low cost tickets.
Merci all!
You’ve been very helpful!
As an aside from the excellent suggestions already given, keep you eye on the flyers posted on kiosks all around the city. We've spontaneously seen some really good concerts we'd have otherwise missed by passing glances at a posted flyer.
