Museum Pass/Navigo Easy Pass vs. Paris Pass

I will be in Paris for six nights and I'm arriving Thursday morning. I have a full-day walking tour scheduled for Saturday and won't be able to use the Paris Pass since you have to use for consecutive days. My question is since I anticipate going to museums and using public transportation for the remainder of my days in Paris does it make sense to purchase a 2-day Pass? So far, I'm planning to visit the Musee d'Orsay Thursday since it's open late and visiting the Louvre Friday morning or evening. However, I may have jet lag Thursday and not want to go to any museums. Thanks in advance for the advice/suggestions.

Do not purchase a Paris Pass unless you enjoy throwing away money. You can buy a 2-day Museum Pass when you arrive, activating it at the first museum you want to go to, knowing you will be going to another museum the following day. You can get a carnet of Metro/bus tickets to get around Paris, 14.90 EUR for 10 t+ tickets. If you need more, buy another carnet, or single t+ tickets at 1.90 EUR each.

Actually, I would purchase the Navigo Easy Pass. It just cost 2 euros for the card and then you can load your transport money on the card for use throughout the subway/transit system. The problem with the paper tickets is that they can easily be misplaced and you need to hold on to the ticket until you exit the station. Then you need to remember which ones you have used and which ones you haven't. The easy pass is , well, easy.

I've been to Paris a bunch of times, and it's never been cost-effective to get any pass. Simply purchase each of your tickets ahead of time (even the night before) online for the day you want, so you don't have to stand in a line to purchase tickets (only the security line).

I'm a big fan of the Paris Museum Pass and get at least one pass every time I visit. If you think you might want to go to museums or other venues covered by the Paris Museum Pass on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday, I'd decide what you want to see and then decide if you want to go ahead and get a 6-day pass even though one of the days will be wasted with your full day's walking tour on Saturday.

A 6-day pass is 74E while a 2-day is 48E, so if you decided you wanted to do 2 2-day passes you'd come out better with the 6-day. Just using 5 days out of 6 on the longer pass averages to 14.8E/day.

Just to clarify, money is not loaded onto a Navigo Easy pass as is with the Oyster card for example. The Easy card is just a replacement for physical tickets. One loads fares onto the Easy, be they single tickets or a pass.

Thank you everyone for the advice. I'll purchase a 2 day Museum Pass for Thursday and Friday and a Navigo Easy Pass. My full day walking tour on Saturday includes taking the bus/Metro so I'll load enough tickets to cover multiple days of travel. I've been to Paris before but I'm returning with newbies so I know I'll be doing the touristy things (Hop on-Hop off bus, Palace of Versailles, etc.) and I don't want to have to worry about paying for transit.
