I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle. Is it on par with the Smithsonian, encompassing several large museums and impossible to see in it's entirety? Just pick and chose the specific museums within it which are of the greatest interest to you? Or is it on a smaller scale? Already I am interested in the Jardin des Plantes, Grand Galerie de l'Evolution and Galerie des Enfants. Would it be too much to visit all three in one day? Any advice would be much appreciated!
It's not as large or as grand as the Smithsonians, but it's still terrific. Great collection of dinosaurs.
The Jardin des Plantes is lovely and interesting but, unless you're an avid gardener or botanist, it's pretty much a walk through - maybe add about 1/2-3/4 hr to your other sites. Although I have to say that I spent a little more than that because I like to photograph flowers and I dawdled a bit.
You can visit all 3 in one day, if you want to. I'd space it out, though.
It's nowhere near the Smithsonian in scale and scope.
Thanks so much!
