hello all,
one of my all-time favorite paintings, rembrandt's supper at emmaus lives at the musée jacquemart-andré. would love to see it, but confused by their ticketing page. while special exhibitions are listed, there seems to be no button for general admission. can i just show up and buy a ticket? if any of you have recent experience, please post.
thanks!
It is a smaller museum and I bet that the website is simply promoting the special exhibit. The ticket is for general admission. You can always email the museum and ask the question.
I was there a couple months ago for a special exhibit and don't remember ever seeing but one entrance - for those with special tickets. The museum is really too small to separate regularly displayed works from those brought in for a special exhibit.
Hmmm, well that is weird. I just went to the website and I see what you mean. I think you just book a ticket to the special exhibition and you get access to the whole museum.
I was looking on my Mac, then downloaded the JA app to my phone to see if I saw anything different and it looks the same. They do have an audio guide online the app so it is definitely worth downloading.
Under the Tickets tab on the app they encourage you to contact customer service which you might want to do if you are worried that the Exhibition ticketing will not get you in to the permanent collection. The last time I went I did book an entry to whatever their exhibition was and after that you were funneled thru to the permanent collection and the rest of the house.
The tea room is very good although I haven't eaten there since before Covid, I guess. Terrific sweets, hahaha!!
editing to add: When I started my reply there were not any others, lol (I type slow and a lot!) but I have other info so I will let it stand.
thank you all for your replies! i wrote the museum.
can i just show up and buy a ticket?
Yes, that’s what I did about 3 weeks ago.
thanks, marco!
