Musee du Luxembourg and Grand Palais

I've never been to either Museum but am interested in the exhibition at the Musee du Luxembourg (Golden Age of English Painting) which opened yesterday, I think, and I might be interested in the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibition that starts at the Grand Palais on Oct 9.

My question is whether I need to purchase advance tickets for either of these?

There is a guided tour in English for the Golden Age of English Painting on the first Sat of each month for an extra 9E so I'd assume that would need to be booked ahead.

Thanks for any input!

Grand Palais exhibitions are always first on my list when I go to Paris, they never disappoint, and can sell out. I have always booked a time in advance. For Lautrec and El Greco, I’d keep track of the timed entry availabilities, everything seems available now, but it’s early days.

For Luxembourg, it sometimes depends on the exhibition, but yes, you’re wise to book the once a month English tour to be safe.

Thanks for the information Barbara! I need to see which Paris Walks are happening that Saturday afternoon, then I'll decide.

Susan! I hope you go see them as well!

We once could not gets tickets for Hopper for all of November (hardly high season). I had to pay high prices for season's tickets for all 3 exhibits in order to see it. Definitely get tickets.

Thanks Janet! Where was the Hopper exhibit?

I saw there is a "Sesame" card you can purchase for both but it's 80E and I don't want to see either exhibition that badly, lol! I would have assumed in November that you would not have had a problem so that is good to know. I'll probably do the Grand Palais toward the end of October so was thinking it might not be as bad but I'll take your and Barbara's advice and pre-buy. I checked the Paris Walks schedule and have done both of the walks on the 1st Sat of Oct so I think I'll go ahead and book the English tour.
