I’m considering this museum in Paris during our trip in September. Has anyone been? What do you think? Will I need to book in advance? TIA
Where is it? I know there is one in Bayonne.
I haven't been to a chocolate museum in France, but I've been to several others. They tend to be boring and don't have good quality chocolates to eat either. France has the best dark chocolates, you can do a little googling to get recommendations for wherever you're going to be. Many shops offer free tastings.
Jules M - sorry it is in Paris!
Lately, I’ve been looking at TripAdvisor reviews for “attractions”/museums.
We were there in April with grandkids aged 6 and 10. It was a fun experience because we did the candy making event with the chocolatier. Otherwise I don’t think it would’ve held the interest of children. The chocolate was OK tasting but the experience of molding the melted chocolate was fun for children and adults. You get to take what you make with you when you leave. We had advanced tickets which are probably needed for the candy making event.
Thanks Jim. I think we will go!
are you talking about this one? https://www.museeduchocolat.fr/
i haven't been but am interested to hear from others that have, it's on my tentative list for next trip!
That is the one we visited. I recommend the chocolate making if you go otherwise it is fairly basic tour. It was fun to work with the melted chocolate. BTS, the hot chocolate was good. We got reservations for the workshop and it was full.
