It appears the museums website has been compromised as my computer will not allow me to visit it. Says "URL Phising"
I was considering a visit so does anyone know if a timed entry is required? Closed on Monday? Have you visited and enjoyed?

Maybe it's your device. The site works fine for me. The museum is closed on Mondays. When you buy your ticket online, you select a date and time and you must arrive within 10 minutes of the appointed time.
https://www.arts-et-metiers.net is working fine for me.
Heures d’ouverture
Mardi au jeudi : 10h – 18h
Vendredi : 10h – 21h
Samedi et dimanche : 10h – 18h
Fermé les lundis, le 1er janvier, le 1er mai et le 25 décembre.
It looks like it is timed entry with a 10 minute window.
It's well worth visiting,
I don’t think you need to buy your ticket ahead of time. It’s never been overly crowded when I’ve visited. I quite like the museum. My husband, an engineer, loves it. It really depends on your interests, but it’s a well done museum and minus school groups, often blissfully quiet. The part of the museum that is a decommissioned church is my favorite part. And do stop in the Arts et Metiers metro stop. It’s done in a steam punk design and is very cool.
We visited last fall and just bought our ticket on site and there was no line to speak of. This is not one I would worry about. (and my apologies if you get there and the line is 3 blocks long -- travel is unpredictable these days)
I live two blocks away. It is a huge museum, and very quiet. No timed entry required, I would be surprised if it were even possible. Allow at least 3 hours. The most impressive bit is at the very end, but I won't spoil.
Edited to add, I last visited in November 2022 (paid entry) and it was basically deserted.
Balso. The website says it's necessary - I'm guessing most of the time it's probably not necessary, but I've been in the past on whatever night is free entry , and there was a wall of people with Rick Steves books in hand, so it may be advised.
Well free entry is always jammed; free entry is the most expensive way to go to a museum.
Hadn’t heard of this museum. It’s now on our list for Paris. Thank you!
Laura, I’m not sure what you mean by “right next to the Louvre.” Arts et Metiers is not next to the Louvre. Perhaps you’re thinking of the Musee des Arts Decoratifs. That is next to the Louvre and does require advance booking.
OMG, Indyhiker, you are totally correct! My mistake and I hereby withdraw my comments because they make no sense. Was completing thinking this was MAD, but it is not! So sorry!!
