musee-des-arts-decoratifs

I will be in Paris in March. I am interested in the Musee des arts Decoratifs. I believe they have a collection of fashion dating back several centuries. I find the website very confusing. It looks like part of the museum might be shut down for reorganization.

Has anyone been there? What is your opinion? What is the best way to get tickets?

Thanks.

The Musée des Arts Décoratifs is well worth a visit. Although interior design, furniture, arts de la table predominate, there is a current exposition focusing on shoes that relates to your interest in fashion:

In addition they have a newly redesigned jewelry exhibit. Tickets are available on the madparis.fr website. There is a map of the galleries and other exhibits on the website. I try to visit every time I’m in Paris.

However, the true fashion collection of Paris is housed in the Palais Galliera which has been closed for a number of years for remodeling. They are hoping to reopen sometime in 2020. Currently they have an exhibit in Amsterdam.

Have you already visited the Yves Saint Laurent museum in Paris? They will have a new exposition opening in March. https://museeyslparis.com/informations-pratiques

I am also interested in this museum and other fashion displays. Is it worth it to buy their pass for all 3 - MAD, Nissim Camondo, and Nave? The Nave appears to be just a special event space? Also, Kateja, the website says the YSL is closed until March 3.

Yes, this is what I'm looking for. Do you know where in Amsterdam?

Nissim Caimondo is a beautifully restored home at the edge of the Parc Monceau, not to be missed if you love antiques, architecture and the beautiful lifestyle of that period. Not really clothing fashion. I mentioned YSL because the OP is traveling in March.
