Musee d’Orsay Impressionism ticket question

Has anyone booked the Inventing Impressionism Exhibition and Immersive Experience “Tonight with the Impressionists?” I want to do this in May and I can’t tell if I book a time for the immersive experience if it also includes the special exhibition and permanent collections. When I try to book a time for the immersive experience it doesn’t then offer me a time slot for the Impressionism exhibit or the ability to purchase audio guides. Do I need to buy the Immersive Experience tickets separately and then go back in and purchase separate tickets to the Impressionism Exhibition?

From the ticket page (and normal for museums):

This ticket provides priority access to the exhibition Paris 1874.
Inventing impressionism. It aslo gives access to the permanaent
collections and other exhibitions scheduled on the day of visit
(subject to avalability).

The immersive "Tonight with the Impressionists - Paris 1874" says:

  • Includes access to the permanent collections and the exhibition Inventing Impressionism. Paris, 1874, subject to availability and closing times.

and also:

Includes compulsory admission to the Musée d'Orsay. From March 26 to
August 11, 2024

The time slot to be selected on the following page is that of the
Virtual Reality Experience (Running time: 1h including 45 min of
virtual reality).

Visit to the exhibition following the experience, except for the last
time slots (4pm, 8pm on Thursdays).

So looks like you are covered.

Separately, I would add that depending upon the immersive ticket time, you may not have time AFTER it to visit the museum's other stuff, so it might mean you need to get there earlier, do the other parts of the museum before ending with the immersive part. IOW, the museum's "normal" hours are the book-ends and the immersive ticket plays by those rules including for the permanent & the special exhibition.

I had the same question - how to book specific times for both the Inventing Impressionism Exhibition and the Immersive Experience “Tonight with the Impressionists." I think you can book them separately, each with a different time. When you book the Immersive Experience select the reduced rate of €16. It says you need to also have admission to the Musee, which will be covered by the Inventing Impressionism ticket. I haven't booked my tickets yet, but I think this will work. Please post here if you tried this and it worked. I will also post once I book the tickets, probably in the next day or two.

I did it! Select the tickets for the Inventing Impressionism exhibit and add it to the cart. Then add the reduced rate tickets for the Immersive Experience to the cart. Both will show up. Then click I Book and you will see the times available for each exhibit. Select each time, then proceed. You will be asked to sign in or create an account. I completed the purchase and have received my tickets in an email. Good luck!

Thank you for your response.
We had gone in and the booked the immersive experience first and then were able to get the audio.
So we have a set time for the immersive experience, but it did not let us book a separate time for the special Impressionism exhibit. Is it possible to go back in and get a time specifically for that without paying again?

I don't know the answer to that. I assume you have paid 32 Euros each for the virtual reality experience. Perhaps you can go to your account that you created to book the tickets and see if you can add the Impressionism Exhibit onto your purchase without paying another 16 Euros each.

We also have a different question about the question you asked. We cannot buy discounted tickets, so it is important for us to choose the right ticket, we want to know if we buy a late opening rate ticket, is the VR experience included or not? Or do we need to make a combination?
