We will be taking the My Way Europe in 14 days tour in September. One of the things we have planned to do on this exciting trip is a dinner show at the Moulin Rouge. I'm looking for any tips for this activity, getting there, lead time (the suggestions that I saw on the website is to arrive about 45 min early) and especially how to dress. I am assuming that we should wear something that is more dressy than we will be wearing for a typical day of sightseeing. Any suggestions or advice?
Pat, you will get a lot of responses telling you the Moulin Rouge is too, too touristy, corny, etc. etc. Pay no attention! Go and have a wonderful time at this iconic Parisian night spot. Why not have a fun night out. Good on ya.
Thanks Norma! I'm sure that you are right about it being a very touristy thing to do. But so is the Eiffel Tower, and I can't imagine going to Pars and not seeing that. We just are looking for a fun evening and maybe entertainment reminiscent of the pageantry of a Las Vegas of years ago. We do appreciate your encouragement.
You should dress up as if you were going to the office - but no sequins necessary - and I wouldn't wear any expensive jewelry.
I would get in line 1 hour ahead of time, because there are often large tour groups who will be ahead of you.
You can easily hail a taxi outside the theatre - just look for the green light on top
Print out your address so there won't be any confusion.
Don't dress up too much , you would stand out , as the bus loads fills the seats of the mostly row tables around you !
If you havnt purchased tickets I would still urge you to consider buying show only tickets as the dinner is overpriced and mediocre at best .
