Montpellier trip

Hello friends,

I am on a solo trip to Montpellier for a conference and would like to take some time off for touring around the city. I don't drive and I like the beach and wine tours and museums. I would appreciate any recommendations for the same. Recommendations for some good restaurants in the city as well.

Would you also suggest some memorabilia to take home for my daughter and wife please. They like trinkets and traditional jewelleries as well as cheese.

Thanks in advance and regards
Saugata

we did a day trip by small van -- 8 people total- to St Guilhem, small towns, interesting hike and lunch in an interesting landscape by a lake -- was very much worth it. The cloisters in the NYC cloisters museum were ripped out of this Abbey which now has less than half of its original cloisters as a result.

Our favorite thing in Montpellier itself was sunset cocktails atop the apartment building. l'arbre blanc (white tree) They also have a restaurant but the cocktail lounge is on top of this fascinating building. https://larbre-restaurant.fr/le-bar/

It is an easy stroll from the center and stunning to see and a great place for a drink.
