Does anyone with experience of this train station have advice about getting there. We will be using metro 6 ad wonder if it makes sense to go to Pasteur and walk down to the station or to get off at Montparnasse Bienvenue and try to reach it from within the main Montparnasse station. Would appreciate advice from someone who has done this.
I don’t know if there have been any changes to access points but It is about equidistant (8-10 minutes) from Pasteur station as it is from Montparnasse. I hate walking underground/inside so I prefer using Pasteur but if it is raining, I would probably walk from Montparnasse metro station. IMO, the best way to access the station is the entrance is near Novotel Montparnasse on Rue du Cotentin or at least that was the case as of 2014. As I think it about it and going through the fog of various walks in or through the train station, I am thinking that my 8-10 minutes estimate for walk time from the Montparnasse metro station is low — make that more like 10 to 20. If you look at it on Google maps with transit lines, you will see what I mean.
thanks. I hate Montparnasse metro/gare complex anyway; it is second only to Chatelet les Halles as a PITA. I am trying to decide if it will be easier to not get lost doing it inside Gare Montparnasse or from the outside and Pasteur.
Thanks for your insights.
I hate that walk from the metro station to the main station and then you will have to walk to Vaurigard. I swear it took me about 15 minutes to get from the stop on Line 4 to the SNCF station while carrying a toddler who refused to walk. Walking from Pasteur is way better IMO.
