Bonjour,
I plan to do the Rick Steves walking tour of the Montmartre district. Have any of you followed this tour? How long did it take you to complete the tour? I plan to see the Montmartre museum during the tour.
Thanks
Bonjour,

I think we spent about 2-2.5 hours but we dallied and wandered off track a bit and stopped for coffee and pastry.
According to the 2017 Paris Guide, Rick suggests allowing "more than 2 hours" for the walk. I would guess this is the minimum with no stops to do more than snap some pictures or view the sights he specifically points out. I would add the amount of time you plan to spend in the museum and for lunch, or a break for "un cafe" or "une biere" along the way. So, the amount of time would depend on how long you stop in route, but I would allow a half day for Montmartre.
While on the topic what about Rick's historic Paris walk including Notre Dame to Point Neuf? His book said about 4 hours but I wondered if anyone had some personal experience with it.
Mike, my personal experience with the Historic Paris walk is that we got sidetracked by snacks, ice cream, and a rest break at the hotel. In one day we did Sainte Chapelle, a one-hour Seine cruise, and Notre Dame. Came back the next day for the Notre Dame tower climb, which takes about two hours depending on how many photos you take and how long you spend in the tower gift shop.
The OP plans to visit the Musee de Montmartres so maybe an hour for that (it is a small museum) and a couple more for a walking tour of the area.
Thank you, Marty.
Didn't mean to hijack your thread, Laurel.
I suppose with these walks you have to factor in fatigue and weather. It's not worth gutting it out if you're hungry and tired.
