Am I correct that I can catch the #40 Bus by the Pigalle Metro Station and ride it in a continuous loop without having to get off at the end of the route?
We want to do a roundtrip of Montmartre and then back again to the top getting off as close as we can to Sacré Cour Cathedral.

No, you would have to get off a north bound at the Mairie of the 18th and get onto a south bound at the Mairie using another ticket. There is no continuous loop. Check at the RATP site for the route as it was changed April 20, 2019.

Yes, the Montmartrobus has been relaunched as #40 with the same vehicles, but a different route and termini at each end instead of as a circle.
