Monte Carlo to Villefranche and other Med cruise ports.

We are a senior couple in pretty good shape who will be arriving in Monte Carlo on a Wed in Sept on a cruise ship and docked from 8AM to 11PM. We have been to the area a few times and have been around the city and EZE before. I am interested in taking a train from Monte Carlo to Villefranche, which we like, for lunch and dinner perhaps. Maybe train to Nice first, which we've toured, for a bit via the train then on to Villefranche.
Is that an easy to do?

Can we walk to the train station from the Monte Carlo cruise port and then from the Villefranche train station to the Marina there?

While I have your attention are there any other favorite day trip suggestions for some of the other ports we are visiting before I book the Ship's tours??
Port Mahon, LaCiotat, St. Tropez, Bastia(Corsica), Portovenere, Portofino, Bandol, Sete, Palamos. Barcelona for 5 days.

Thanks in advance!

The answer is basically yes. The train station at Villefranche is almost on top of the beach. Then Nice is the next stop. The Nice train station is much farther from the beach area. Use google maps to visualize the locations,

Just note that the Nice main train station is actually two stops from Villefranche-sur-Mer. The first is Riquer and that is even further from the Old Town and main part of the centre. From the Nice train station, you can take a tram down the main street if you are tired of walking. Cumulatively it can be a lot of walking, as the longest distance you'll face is in Monaco (there are buses there but of course they get slammed when a ship docks)

La Ciotat is next to Cassis, just on the other side of the mountain. Sète is a fifteen minute train ride to Montpellier. In any case, both towns are interesting in themselves.
