Montana Residences? What the heck?

I don't know what to think about this! My husband came across something on Expedia. Does anyone have experience with something called Montana Residences? Looks like a seniors' independent living facilities but you can rent by the night? They are in many tourist places in France, and CHEAP per night, for full apartments. The one in Chartres has a 7 am check out (????) but for the price we could book another night and leave when we like. https://www.residences-montana.com/fr/vivre-montana I am starting to think of it as an "anti-youth hostel"! (At the youth hostel in Portugal they had beer on tap ...maybe here it's prune juice? I am giggling like mad.) Honestly it looks too good to be true but also super weird for a vacation stay...

I really have no idea, but when I look at the web info, they seem to be places to live, not visit as a tourist.

The Montana residences look like what we call "medicalized residences" which are rather intended for the elderly, but these are without medical services and apparently bookable just like a hotel

These are accommodations with concierge services, meal deliveries, dry cleaning, assistance, etc.

And a 24/7 emergency call button in each room!

This is senior independent apartments with everyday services included and some specialized help for an added fee.

The daily rentals are for visitors/vacationers, or older people who want to try out the facility before giving up their present home. A few apartments are rented to university students, who participate in inter-generational activities. Generally, the food I've had in France in senior facilities is excellent; each facility had a chef. No frozen tater tots. LOL.

At this independent living stage, you'll find most of the residents are active and lively.

I saw this rental concept in Cologne and think it's a great opportunity for a foreign visitor. Visiting like a local.

The Rick Steves Germany-Austria-Switzerland tour used a facility like this in Trier when the tour started there. So must be a common thing. Plus I can see how people coming to visit a resident could want to stay there.

I've stayed in a similar in Deidesheim in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

We really enjoyed the auctioning of the ram and the associated fest.

Thanks all! I'm glad to have the concept validated. It seems both weird, and good at the same time! We will work on getting that booking. :) We love a unique accommodation!
