Mont St. Michel to Rennes

Hello. We plan to travel from Mont. St. Michel to the train station in Rennes. I see there are a few route options that are close in terms of the amount of time it takes. Can anyone advise me of the best route to take and give your opinion as to why it is the best? Thanks.

When I went the opposite direction last year, I swung wide to the East so I could visit the Brittany American Cemetery in Saint-James. Very contemplative.
