I am buying the 2 day MultiPass Lift tickets on line ahead of time for late June 2024. The website asks me to reserve a time for the Aiguille du Midi which I want to do at 8am on my first day. Then it asks me to reserve a time for the Mont Blanc Tramway which Rick does not mention in his book. Im not sure what this is and if I need it but it is free with multipass.
Do I book that the same day as the Midi or is that for my second day. I had planned to do the cogwheel train to Mer de Glace the second day. I cant find any mention of the Mont Blanc Tramway in Ricks book so I am confused. Thank you.

The Mont Blanc Tramway is a railway line that goes from St Gervais-les-Bains, which is a
fair bit downvalley from Chamonix town, up into the mountains. Not quite sure why it's
requesting you to make a time reservation.
I would consider just making a dummy reservation and leaving it at that, with no intent
to use it.
If you take the Panoramique across the glacier to Italy and descend via the Skyway
Monte Bianco into Courmayeur, and then take the bus back into Chamonix, that's
already a pretty full day.
On the second day, if you do the Montenvers train to Mer de Glace, there may be time
to do the Tramway. Just keep in mind that it's a hike from the train station down/up
to the glacier, although it appears a new gondola has opened that may reduce the
amount of stairs you have to navigate.
