My wife and I will be visiting Paris for our first time in December and looking forward to seeing a lot of art. Is Monet's Giverny worth seeing in December?
Monet’s house and gardens are closed in December.
If interested in Monet, consider visiting Musee Marmottan and Musee de l'Orangerie along with Musee d'Orsay.
Try to reserve l'Orangerie and d'Orsay for early mornings before the crowds become unbearable.
Be aware that if you change your plans to when Giverny is open that there is virtually zero Monet art at Giverny. (spell check repair)
For Monet's art visit the Musee Marmottan which has been renamed the Marmottan -Monet. Much of his stuff is there including Impression Sunrise for which the Impressionist movement was named. Of course Orangerie for the big water lily murals and the Musee d'Orsay for lots of Impressionist art including some Monet.
I don't think there is any Monet art at Giverny -- at least at his house and gardens. And of course it closes every year about October 30 or so and opens again in April.
