Mondays in Il sur la Sorgue

Hello!

In planning our Provence itinerary, we had decided to make our first stop Il sur la Sorgue, but we'll arrive on a Monday, and according to RS, it's 'dead' on Mondays. I'm wondering if this means that many restaurants and shops are closed, or just that it's less crowded as it's not a market day....
Does anyone know about this? We just wanted to see the town, shop a bit and have lunch, but will need to revise our plans if most things are closed...

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Marvox

Mondays are pretty dead in most towns throughout France as many, but not all, restaurants and shops are closed. However, the real charm of Il Sur La Sorgue is the many water wheels and wandering the town. I have spent about 15 weeks driving through France in several different trips and have never really noticed any problems visiting towns on Mondays - there will certainly be some cafes and restaurants open, and probably a few shops, especially those catering to tourists, open as well.

Hello Carolyn,
Thank you very much for your reply - this is the info I was after. From the photos, the town certainly looks as though there's lots of charm and a great place to visit. As long as we can find a cafe or grocery to buy some food, that will be enough.

Cheers,
Marvox
