Monday Déc 18 - strike on RER B, Paris

Monday will not be a good day to take the RER B between Charles de Gaulle Airport and Paris as there will be a strike. Only 50% of regular trains will run.

We arrive on Monday at CDG. Thank you for this. Any other alternatives that you would recommend? We are staying near the Gare De Lyon.

A cab is only 55 Euro. If there are 4 of you it is close to a wash -- and with luggage the convenience is a big value too.

What Janet said. Cab rides into the city are fixed-rate, so you don't have to worry about the meter running up if you get stuck in traffic.

BUT -- be sure to go to the official taxi line when you arrive at CDG. Unfortunately you will be approached inside the terminal by touts trying to get you to go with them. Ignore them and follow the signs to the official taxi rank.

It's also a good idea to have your hotel name and address written down on a card or piece of paper, adding "€55" in writing as well. That way you can show it to the dispatcher and the driver and they know you are aware of the proper charge.

I hope you have smooth travels and a great visit !
