Monaco to Eze to Villefranche to Monaco

Helping a friend who will have a long cruise port day in Monaco on a Sat in July. 8am to 11pm. They would like to explore Monaco, go to Eze, then Villefranche Harbor for a few hours and then go back to Monaco. The order is not really important. Any opinions on the easiest way to do this using public transportation or taxis if needed? Is there Uber in this area? Thanks.

You have frequent train connections between Monaco, Villefranche,Nice. From Nice you can take a bus to Eze.

Sorry, Brian?

Nice is just along the coast - the major city in the area - and the train ride from Monaco to Nice is only 6 stops in just about half an hour. It is the hub of transportation, and the bus to Eze le Village (the one with the high views and Jardin Exotique at the top of the hill) is a bit easier from there. The little minibus which climbs up the mountain goes from Eze-sur-Mer near the station and winds up a really steep road to the entrance to Eze le Village. You can't drive up beyond the bus stop, whichever way you arrive, the climb up the rest of the hill is on foot. The extremely narrow lane has stairs in it. The views are worth it. The bus from Nice is more frequent and less of an E-Ticket ride.

If they have such a long day they might enjoy the Old Town of Nice with its Flower Market and Market, and the perfumeries adjacent.

Or, as you say, not.

Villefranche sur Mer is adjacent to nice, just around the hill from the Old Town, one minor train stop away from Nice Ville station.

I wouldn't have thought a taxi was needed, but I don't know your friend. I don't want to know about uber.
