Anyone been to Epernay recently? I read on Trip Adviser that they are closed for tours due to renovation. I have been planning my trip around this particular area and will have to rethink the whole trip if this is so. Thanks to anyone who knows...

Sherry, this page on the Moet site says the Visitors Center is closed for one year from October 1, but does not indicate the year. I would suggest contacting them from the second link below.

On the French site, they say they've been closed since Oct 1 2014.
They recommend visiting Caves Mercier.
But honestly there are so many other Champagne houses to visit (both in Epernay and in Reims), the closure of one shouldn't trip you up!

Don't despair! There are actually about fifty more champagne houses in the Epernay-Reims-Aÿ area:
roughly,
25 in Epernay
about 15 in Reims
and about 10 in Aÿ.
