Hi all,
I am considering rental an apartment in Mirepoix for a week in August 2015. I was just wondering if this town is a good place to stay? We have never been to the south of France before and are interested in visiting a medieval town, good food and wine and relaxing and getting a good feel for small village life.

That's very funny, I just read all about the importance of a good one in Michael Pollen's latest book, I do hope someone has actual info for the OP.

I've been there. It's lovely and has a great market. It's very handy for other good spots too. I'd do it!
PS check out Uzes too - it's one if my favorite spots.
