Metz and Luxembourg

I have only a short weekend with my granddaughter, studying in Metz. She would like to visit Luxembourg. With such limited time are private tours of Luxembourg available. Another question, please, best way to travel from London to Metz. Seems to be a variety of ways, and again, time being limited looking for recommended ways to travel.

Everyone's recommendations are always very much appreciated.

By train, take the Eurostar from London to Paris, then a TGV from Paris to Metz. You need to go from Nord to Est stations in central Paris, but they are close enough to walk.

By air, fly from London to Luxembourg, then take the bus from the airport to the central station and the train from there to Metz.

Metz is worth some time on its own. You will see the historic train station when you arrive; there's also a handsome cathedral, extensive gardens in the centre, and a branch of the Pompidou museum. Your granddaughter can also show you plenty of bistros and pubs, which demonstrate distinctive links to Germany and Belgium. Wikipedia has pictures https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metz
