Metro tickets, paper versus card

I understand that the Metro (and the bus?) Will no longer be accepting paper tickets at some point. I'm wondering if I should attempt to get the card/pass that I understand is now being offered. Does anyone have any information on any of this? I already have several paper tickets from a previous visit. I'm not sure if I will use them all and how long they will be good for but if I do run out should I just buy a few more tickets or should I get the card/pass? Any advice in case I have left over paper tickets? Thanks.

Tickets should still be good until the end of next year, so you can still use whatever you have left over. As for future tickets... it's really up to you and makes little difference. Only big difference being that you cannot split a Navigo Easy (name of the card) between several passengers, so if tou're not alone I'd stick with carnets of 10 tickets until they're no longer sold.

Thanks,Balso. If I have any extra paper tickets I'll save them since I do expect to be back in Paris just before the end of next year. And I'll get another carnet if I run out. Again, thanks very much
